Ellie George
Program Manager

Ellie George joined Community Markets Inc. as Program Manager after completing a year of service with CMI as an AmeriCorps VISTA Member. She was born and raised in West Virginia, and is dedicated to improving the lives of residents in any way that she can. She discovered her love of service through a long history of volunteerism and AmeriCorps service in many areas of the nonprofit sector, including summer support for families of school-aged children, outdoor nature education, and local food access. Ellie believes strongly in community support and collaboration, and longs to empower communities within West Virginia to continue to grow in their capacity to care for their residents. Ellie applies a variety of her personal interests and experience to her work at CMI including: photography, creative writing, and community engagement. Ellie holds a Bachelor’s in Chemistry with a minor in English from Shepherd University.
