It’s only February and so much is happening at CMI! Take a moment and read the updates and news below. Please get involved! Donate if you’re able. Volunteer. Share our posts on social media. On March 1st the Unity Campaign kicks off which is a great way to support CMI and have your donation be partially matched by United Way. March 1st is also CMI’s birthday – celebrate 4 years of impact with us! Thank you, friends; without you CMI simply wouldn’t exist!

CMI fed 200 families in Charles Town, WV in January this year in partnership with Saint James the Greater Catholic Church. Another Food Box Giveaway in Inwood is scheduled for February 25.
At a Glance
- In the past two years, Community Markets Inc. has fed over 10,500 people in 10 West Virginian counties with 124,500 lbs. of healthy, locally-sourced food and has put over $276,000 back into the pockets of West Virginian farmers and small family business owners
- In January 2025 alone, CMI fed over 500 people with 4,500 lbs. of healthy food grown locally and put $13,000 back into local farmers’ pockets!
- The CMI Team and their families recently celebrated 2024 at Alfredo’s Mediterranean Grill. Joining was CMI’s Board President Paul Buede (2nd from right) and Board Member Mike Azar (right).
- CMI is proud to partner with the West Virginia Farmer’s Market Association and the West Virginia Department of Agriculture Veterans and Heroes to Agriculture Program to feed 30 families with chickens from Red House Farm. Read the full story HERE.

- The St. Isidore Winter Market has moved indoors and continues be open weekly on Thursday evenings year-round providing fresh and affordable groceries sourced from local farms to families in Jefferson County and beyond.
Our Market now accepts SNAP EBT!!
- Online pre ordering is from Friday mornings until Tuesdays at noon with pick up every Thursday from 5:00-6:30 pm at 55 Crosswinds Dr. in Charles Town. Pre orders are encouraged but not required. Come see us soon!
